Your health rarely tells its story through one symptom, one laboratory result, or one moment in time.
You may notice changes in energy, sleep, digestion, temperature regulation, stress response, weight, mood, or other aspects of how you feel. Bloodwork may add another layer of information. Your health history adds another. Your practitioner may notice relationships that are difficult to see when each piece is considered separately.
This is where looking for patterns can become useful.
Your Body Has a Pattern
Decode Your Dolphin® is built around a simple idea:
Your body has a pattern.
Rather than viewing every symptom, laboratory finding, health-history detail, and questionnaire response as an isolated piece of information, Decode Your Dolphin helps organize these different information streams into recognizable metabolic patterns.
These patterns are called Metabolic Archetypes.
The purpose is not to give someone another label. It is to help practitioners and clients better understand the bigger picture.
What Is a Metabolic Archetype?
A Decode Your Dolphin Metabolic Archetype is a recognizable pattern used to help organize and communicate relationships across available clinical and patient-reported information.
There are seven primary DYD Metabolic Archetypes:
Walrus, Sea Turtle, Octopus, Manatee, Silky Shark, Blue Whale, and Pufferfish.
Each represents a defined metabolic pattern within the Decode Your Dolphin framework.
Importantly, an Archetype is a pattern, not a diagnosis.
Having a particular Archetype does not prove that you have a particular disease or medical condition. It also does not mean that everyone associated with the same Archetype will have the same symptoms, laboratory findings, health history, or clinical needs.
That individual context matters.
Why Look at Patterns Instead of Individual Clues?
Imagine looking at a single piece of a much larger puzzle.
That piece may contain useful information, but without seeing the pieces around it, understanding the complete picture can be difficult.
Health information can work in a similar way.
A symptom may have meaning in context. A laboratory finding may have meaning in context. A health-history detail may become more useful when considered alongside other information.
Decode Your Dolphin is designed to help organize these relationships so practitioners can review the larger pattern rather than reducing the person to one isolated finding.
From Patterns to Understanding
The public DYD framework can be summarized simply:
Patterns → Archetypes → Understanding → Practitioner Guidance
First, relevant information is considered together.
Recognizable patterns can then be organized using the DYD Metabolic Archetype framework.
The Archetypes provide a clearer language for discussing what may otherwise feel like a complicated collection of information.
From there, the practitioner brings clinical experience, individual context, and professional judgment to the interpretation.
Technology may help organize information.
Clinical judgment stays human.
Can Someone Have More Than One Archetype Influence?
A person may have a primary Metabolic Archetype while also showing supporting Archetype influences.
When supported by the Decode Your Dolphin framework, this broader combination may be described as a Metabolic Constellation.
This is another reason an Archetype should not be treated as a simple label.
The goal is to better understand relationships within the larger clinical picture—not to place every person into a single box.
Why Practitioner Guidance Matters
Information is not the same thing as interpretation.
Two people may share aspects of a similar pattern while having very different health histories, symptoms, laboratory findings, circumstances, and clinical priorities.
That is why practitioner judgment remains central to Decode Your Dolphin.
The framework can help organize information and create a clearer language for discussing patterns, but individualized clinical interpretation belongs with an appropriately qualified healthcare practitioner.
A Different Way to See the Bigger Picture
For many people, health information can feel fragmented.
There are symptoms over here.
Bloodwork over there.
A health history somewhere else.
And sometimes it is difficult to understand how—or whether—those pieces relate.
Decode Your Dolphin provides a framework for bringing those pieces into a more organized conversation.
Because sometimes understanding your health begins not with another isolated clue, but with recognizing the pattern connecting the clues.
Your body has a pattern.
Decode Your Dolphin Metabolic Archetypes are educational and organizational patterns, not medical diagnoses. Individual symptoms, laboratory findings, health history, and other clinical information should be reviewed with an appropriately qualified healthcare practitioner.
